Greetings, Tiger Families!

Welcome to Samson Middle School! My name is Troy Turman, and I am honored to serve as your principal.

A native of Andalusia, Alabama, and a graduate of Pleasant Home High School, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Huntingdon College and a Master of Education in Instructional Leadership from Auburn University. I am currently pursuing an Education Specialist degree in Instructional Leadership through Auburn University.

This marks my 20th year in education, with experiences as a classroom teacher, athletic coach, math interventionist, and assistant principal. Those roles have reinforced a simple belief: every student deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. It is a privilege to work alongside students, families, faculty, staff, and the community to create an environment where every child feels supported, challenged, and valued.

At Samson Middle School, relationships matter. An open-door policy and strong communication are important because the best outcomes for students happen when families and schools work together. As one team, our shared goal is to provide an exceptional educational experience while helping every student grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Samson has a rich tradition of pride and excellence, and I am excited to build on that foundation with all of you. Thank you for the opportunity to serve this outstanding school community. I look forward to an incredible year as we work together to help every Tiger reach his or her full potential.
